Mr. Heflin is a real estate industry veteran with over twenty-five years of experience in all facets of acquisition, development and construction.  Mr. Heflin has a solid track record of production that has resulted in over one billion dollars of wide-ranging asset types being put into service during the tenure of his career.

Mr. Heflin joined Brickstone in 1999 to manage the entitlements and turnkey construction of all the firm’s various hotel development deals.  Brickstone completed four Marriott branded hotel transactions totaling sixty million dollars that were turn keyed to Marriott corporate and two other privately held franchisee companies.  All of the hotels were within commercial condominiums located in suburban areas of Philadelphia and Boston.  Additionally, Mr. Heflin oversaw the land development of the $80 million Wyomissing Square project.

Mr. Heflin has had many multi-faceted roles outside of Brickstone; highlighted by serving as the developer for a one hundred and ten million dollar condominium project in Arlington, Virginia; acquiring a twenty million dollar resort hotel in Ocean City, Maryland; and was responsible for the real estate due diligence necessary to acquire the AmeriHost hotel brand and assets from bankruptcy proceedings.  Mr. Heflin managed individual hotel projects for two of the largest hotel companies in the world, Choice Hotels International and Marriott International, as part of their corporate brand roll out of the TownePlace Suites, SpringHill Suites, and MainStay Suites hotels developed in over thirty states.  Mr. Heflin has also served as a consulting engineer for nationally branded restaurant and hospitality chains, prominent educational institutions, and large-scale regional developments.

Brickstone recently focused on the redevelopment of the Midtown Village neighborhood of Center City which has yielded the construction of over $100M of adaptive reuse buildings.  This collection of projects includes the acquisition of twelve buildings that were redeveloped as 300,000 square feet of mixed-use development that includes residential apartments, co-working office space, retail, and restaurant; all of which were completed under Mr. Heflin’s oversight.

Mr. Heflin holds a Masters degree in engineering from Villanova University and a Bachelors degree from West Virginia University.  Mr. Heflin resides in the City of Philadelphia.
